Through the Purple Haze debut card.

I am very happy to announce I have been made a Design team member for Through the Purple Haze Challenge blog. For the small time I've been with them, they rest of the team are a great bunch, with an eclectic mix of styles.
For the first challenge of 2014, we had the privilege of working with digistamps from Crafty Sentiments.

And here's the card I created with the provided image;

I chose to colour the image in soft shades and so used Promarkers. I find Promarkers are best for paler shades and Spectrum Noirs, for darker shades. (That is of course my own personal opinion). For her hair, I felt brown shades would best compliment the paler coloured clothes. I'm quite pleased with how the hair has turned out, the light effect's come out perfectly.

Mounting the picture on an ornate frame and then this on top of co-ordinating coloured matting and layering really lent itself to the classic vintage with a modern twist I love.
The sentiment I chose was from the spring Brambly Hedge stamps by Crafters Companion, it seemed to suit the picture with the flower connotation.

I then finished of with some classic flowers, made tonal with a brush of co-ordinating ink.
All in all pretty pleased with my first contribution to Through the Purple Haze Challenge Blog.
