Baby girl die cut card

Taking my liking for vintage as inspiration and mixing it with a modern image, I've created a cute little baby girl card. I've used various die's to achieve the vintage feel, as does the colour papers I've used.

Because the backing paper on the mat and layer is patterned, I've left the image as an outline as I felt it would make the card too fussy. Using the same pink ink as the image, I've accentuated the embossing from the die by inking through it and blending the edges.

To balance the corner die, in the opposite corner I have made a flower from 4 cuts of the sames die, consertinaed them together and finished it off with a Dazzler in the centre.

Jemima Puddle Duck 6x6 card

Been a while since I've had time to do any crafting, the joys of working full time and being a mum. Don't get me wrong, love being a mum, just could do without the work!!!
Oh well, I need to fund my crafty habit somehow!

Well this is my latest card, just a cutesy little birthday card.
I've always loved Beatrix Potter's stories and getting the opportunity to craft with her beautiful artwork is just a privilege.

Jemima Puddle Duck in monochrome card with accents
For this card, I've taken the main image and printed it in black and white, but to add interest I've picked out the features which are synonymous to Jemima, printed them out in colour and overlayed them on the original image

To complete the card, I've added a sentiment and some quilled flowers in complimenting colours and finished them off with some gems.

Ingredients

6x6 Kraft card base from my crafty stash.
Hunkydory pale green card for matting and layering.
Jemima Puddle Duck image from Crafters Companion Beatrix Potter CD Roms.
Flowers, leaves & sentiment free from Crafters Companion Club Inspire Free downloads.
Gems from my crafty stash.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafters Companion - Summer
Crafts and Me - Vintage

Wish me luck..

Baby Girl card

Yay, the weekend = more playing with my crafty stash, well once the shopping and housework is done!
Still experimenting with my new Spellbinders dies and trying out different techniques.

On this card I've done to celebrate the birth of a baby girl, I've used the two outermost dies from the Adourning Squares set, with the sentiment recessed to give dimension.

I've only added a couple of embellishments, so as not to detract from the sentiment.

I'm entering this card in the http://craft-roomchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ 'So Sentimental'. Wish me luck!

Polkadoodles 'April Showers' Challenge

Nothing better than a delivery of new crafty things to give a little inspiration.
Had a pile of lovely new Spellbinders dies delivered and it really didn't take long for the ideas to start flowing!
Here's the result of my first play:

I used a Humphreys Corner image from a Crafters Companion CD for the decoupage. I love Humphreys Corner pictures and have a real soft spot for using anything with Humphreys big sister Lottie, as it reminds me of my youngest daughter, Charlotte (shortened to Lottie).

I've placed the image on a die cut of the Spellbinders Grateful Lattice die and framed it with Spellbinders 5x7  Elegant Labels 4.

This card is going into the http://polkadoodle.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/week-15-challenge-april-showers.html Challenge.

Cute & Cuddly Cupcake Challenge

Ok so it's been nearly a couple of weeks since my last posting. Life as working mother doesn't leave a great deal of time to do some crafting. But I've managed a bit, so this is card is being entered in the http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ no:238 Cupcake Challenge 'Cute & Cuddly'.

I really like this one because the simpleness of having the same image stamped three times, using three different mediums has turned out to be really effective.

The image used is from Docrafts Wellington Bear collection.
1st image uses black image stamped on white card.
2nd image uses the same image stamped on cream card and coloured with Promarkers.
3rd image is stamped with Versamark, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Backing card is from my stash of hunkydory cardstock.

Hope you like it.

Country View Crafts' challenge - April, butterflies.

I am entering this card into the http://countryviewcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/ craft challenge.
For this card, I have used elements from Hunkydory's Pearl Elegance collection and mounted them on alternated Pearl Swirls foil card and acetate, to give a floating effect.
Constructive feedback would be appreciated.

Hunkydory Cards

Well been very inspired waiting for the Hunkydory Family Blockbuster to arrive, thought I'd make a few from Hunkydory kits I already have.

Just going to get started now on the new Crafters Companion monthly challenge. My first attempt at a challenge. Theme this month is FLOWERS, so that leaves the door pretty open for artistic interpretation.
Wish me luck. I'll post it on here as soon as I've done it.
