Rick St Denis - No straight angles

Always a difficult challenge this one, got to do a card but with no straight angles. Right the dies are out!
The sponsor this week for Through The Purple Haze is Rick St Dennis. His images are always so original and different to any thing else out there and such a pleasure to colour with Promarkers.

The flowers are made from X Cut flower dies, inked to match the colour scheme and shaped to make them look a bit more edgy. the centres of the flowers are Craftwork Cards Candi.
Join in the fun at TTPH and you could win some of his fabulous designs to work with.

Exploding wedding box

Well how excited am I? I am very proud to tell you, I have been chosen to join the fabulous

Digi Choosday Design Team

best thing of all, I get to play with some totally amazing images from Polka doodles and the talented Nikky Hall. And what a week to start on, theme this week is

Anything but a Square Card

For my first card as part of the team, I haven't actually done a card! The template for the exploding box is here for free! I've used The Happy Couple from Emma Canning and coloured with Graph'It Markers. The papers are in Emma Canning Blue/Teal bundle and Rose papers bundle, which I have recoloured in Craft Artist, as I have for the flowers from Pretty Little Things & Back to Nature. Finally I added recoloured sentiments from the Marriage bundle.

Hop on over to the Digi Choosday site and you can also get 15% off digi's with the Digi Chooday code.

Purple Haze Challenge - Anything goes (optional use leftovers)

Well it's everyones favourite theme this week at Though the Purple Haze, Anything Goes. Love these weeks on the challenge as we get a good amount of entries and some wonderfully different ideas. To take part, click the link below and you could win some Stamping Chef images.

Through The Purple Haze Challenges

I was given a sexy little image to work with and as I'm still trying to work outside the box (no pun intended!), I decided this week to do a box.

The box itself is made with Kraft card, using the Crafters Companion Sweet Treat boards and covered with Hunkydory card. I'll be completely honest, I have no idea which kit the card is from, it's been in the pile for quite a while! Lace ribbon has been glued around the top and bottom edge of the box and this has been complimented by the bow and the frill I've put around the oval mount. I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir pencils, blended using their Blending Solution and carefully cut around it and glued it half on the mount and the rest of the image, to the box itself. To finish off, I've added a few leftovers from my crafty stash of a few paper flowers, a feather and 3 pins.

Sherri Baldy 'S'amantha birthday card.

I can't believe where time goes, my eldest daughter has just turned 11 , so I thought I'd colour her a pretty little card as she's always asking for me to make projects for her. Browsing through Sherri's Etsy shop, I found the perfect image to be able to make a card personal for Sam. Once coloured, I mounted it on pink pearlescent card and then out that on a card blank. The card blank is from Creative Crafting, one of their tent cards and to make it look a bit more exciting that just white, I draw over thick lines using Promarkers in corresponding colours.
Hope she likes it.

Milk Coffee Digi stamp challenge

The theme this week for Through the Purple Haze challenge is to create your own background, with our sponsor being Milk Coffee Digi stamps. I took my inspiration for this card from Julia Watts, I was lucky enough to win one of her cards from Create and Craft this week, so got really excited to try some of her techniques.

I first off all coloured the beautiful image with Promarkers, which then led me to set upon the colour scheme for the card. I went with the aqua colour of the pillow. For the background, I used the Ink Duster to lay on a light layer of colour through a stencil, then put it through the GC in an embossing folder to get the clock embossing. I finished this part by smudging some of the ink around the edge of the background. I then layered this onto a piece of complimenting coloured card, put that on white, leaving a slightly wider gap for the PVA glue pearls, mounted again on the aqua coloured and finally put this on an 8x8 white card, with the ink dusted around the edge of this as well.
Once I'd glued the image into the corner, I made the rose with a strip of ribbon rolled around and held in place with super sticky tape, added a few leaves made from the aqua card and created the sentiment using the Clarity Stamps Letterbox stamps.
Really pleased with how it has come out, hope you like it.
I've also made my first video tutorial of how to make the rose, it's posted on YouTube, just follow the link.

Clarity Seahorse

Wow, I'm on fire with blogging at the moment, 3 posts in one week! I love doing it though, because I love the thought that I'm giving other crafters some inspiration, after all that is one of the main reasons I love to craft.
So this morning I've managed to entertain the youngest and get a card done. I'm experimenting a bit more with all my Clarity products and got inspired yesterday when I received this months Clarity Club stamp and stencil. Although I haven't used this months items, I have used some of their other wonderful stamps.

Clarity Stamps used
Fossil Letterbox
Filigraphy Seahorse

Adirondack Inks used
Background - Sail Boat Blue, Oregano
