Get Creative Challenge 5 - 1 Ribbon, 2 Papers & 3 Brads - Lacy Sunshine

Welcome back to my blog after the Christmas break and to get into the swing of things, here's my last DT card for 2014.

Get Creative

This fortnights challenge is a 1, 2, 3. Use 1 ribbon, 2 papers and 3 brads. All this and using a fabby image provided by the wonderfully talented

Lacy Sunshine

After creating quite a few Christmas themed cards in the run up to the big event, it's been nice to do something a little different. For this card I've gone down the Steampunk route, love the idea of it, but I'm still learning with the colour combinations and good layouts for this style.
Hope you like.

I've coloured this solely with Spectrum Noir pencils, think I need a little more practise to make the colours 'pop' a bit more, but I do like the aspect and light accents on it.

Digi Choosday Challenge 50 - Last Minute Christmas

So with this weeks theme being last minute Christmas, I thought I'd do just that, make my card a the very last minute. It WAS out of choice! So with this in mind, I chose to use one of Nikky's design sheets from Festive Holibobs. I love these design sheets, they are great for either a quick card or if you're not that confident yet with layouts. With a few additions of buttons and a bit of backing card, I love how it's turned out.

The image of Santa is again from this collection, but also available individually as a digi stamp here,as well as a polymer stamp to order here.

Digi Choosday Challenge 47 - Christmas Celebrations

Christmas is always a celebration, but never so much as when it's baby's first and I've made matching cards and candles for a boy and a girl. The papers are from Festive Hollybobs, with the pink papers having been recoloured in Craft Artist. The images are from this collection too, but are also available as individual digi's here for the boy and here for the angel.

The dies are from Tonics new topper range, these are my first Tonic purchase and I love them! The candles took a bit more time, after importing the image into Craft Artist and adding the appropriate sentiment, the skill comes with getting them printed onto tissue paper, not a easy feat and several pieces chewed up by the printer, but I love doing them.
Join in the fun and have a chance at winning one of Nikki's amazing digi's,

Digi Choosday Challenge 45 - Presents & Gifts

OK, so with Christmas creeping up thick and fast, I thought I'd use the opportunity to use my DT projects to make my gifts for the family. With so many to do though, hand colouring isn't always an option, so I decided to use a design sheet from the  Festive Hollybobs collection. Every image and paper is taken purely from 1 single A4 sheet. with the addition of some sparkly Stickles and a cutting file on the silhouette, this project only took about 15 minutes including all the fussy cutting!

If you want to get some great presentation and gift ideas, have a look at my teaamies fab creations.

This week was really hard for me, can't do CAS very well! I chose the North Pole sign  from the embellishments section of Festive Hollybobs and coloured with Graph'Its. With a little bit of Stickles glitter glue, I think it's simple but effective. The sentiment is from the same collection.

Digi Choosday Challenge 43 - Lace

I love lace, so pretty & girly, so this weeks card had to be pink. My image is from the Rose Budd Collection and also available individually. The backing paper is also part of that collection, it comes A4 size, but I've resized using Craft Artist.

I've used Promarkers to colour the image and used Spectrum Noir pencils to accent the colours. The lace was a piece of off cut, wasn't sure to start how to use it as it's so wide, but I found the pearl buckle and I love how it's turned out. That was the starting point of the card and it grew from there.

Digi Choosday Challenge #34 - Blooms

Well I'm back after two weeks holiday. No crafting, not even a craft shop for the whole time, not happy! Flowers, flowers everywhere! This weeks theme for Digi Choosday is

Blooms

I have themed my card for a man, using the Gardener from Work & Play 2, as is the brick backing paper, which is made to look like a shed and the flowers are from there too. The image is coloured with Graph'Its.
For the construction, I have taken a 8x4 piece of Kraft card and folded it with a gatefold, covered with the brick paper for the main body of the shed. for the roof, I've taken a smaller piece of Kraft card and half covered it with some wood grain paper I found in Serif CAP2 and overlapped it at the top, to give the impression of the shed roof.

The sentiment on the interior is just genius

'We love our gardens so much we wet our plants'
