Challenges 4 Everybody - Sherri Baldy

For this weeks challenge card, I've had the privilege of being able to use a beautiful digistamp from Sherri Baldy. All her images are gorgeous, with big bold eyes and plenty of space with the image for colouring.

With the long wavy hair on this image, I wanted to keep the feel of fairy tale and keep the colouring in pastel shade and just really cutesy. Finishing the card off with a complimenting backing paper, a die cut silver swirl and some flowers to give dimension. I'm not overly confident with my standard of colouring with Promarkers, so hopefully I won't let the rest of the DT at C4E down. See what everyone has done and join in the fun at http://challenges4everybody.blogspot.co.uk/

Chocolate & Britain

Challenge week comes round so quickly, this week with Drunken Stampers it London or Red, White & Blue.

Yet again I have chosen to stay with my most favoured style and gone down the vintage route. A while back I bought some new stamps from Indigo Blu, which included this 'Chocolate is not just for Breakfast' stamp. Something about it reminded me of the post war era, so that's what I focused on. I used paper printed from a free Daisytrail Digikit, a couple of Spellbinders die's and 3d flowers made using a Tonic Petal Pairs punch.

I'm particularly happy with the swirls, they are from the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Gold Elements One Corner die, which I've trimmed down to the size and shape to suit the card. I'm also really pleased with the flowers, the first time I tried to make them, they just didn't work and just looked awful, determined to make them work this time, I studied a couple of videos on You Tube and hey presto, it worked!

Pop over to Drunken Stampers to see what fantastic creations the rest of the DT have made, Though my only question is, why does everybody give the impression that Britain is a rainy country!!!????

Website launch

My apologises for not adding any new posts for a while. Been not only ridiculously busy at work (45 hrs In one week) and dealing with the house and kids, but also have been working stupidly to get the website up and running. I've done it though, got nappy cakes on and body suits on. More to go  on but not bad for a weeks work! Ode to the day I'm my own boss! Take a look, unfortunately at this stage I'm only able to deliver to UK, but who knows where the future will take me.

Button Heart card

Theme this week on Drunken Stampers is Buttons.

I've gone for a vintage feel on this one; one of my favourite styles and using lots of pink(ish) buttons, it seemed to lend itself nicely to a romantic card. I've kept it quite simple, as so many buttons have been used, too much would make the whole thing too busy.

By arranging the buttons tightly, the heart image is clear but still have a feel of complexity. Mounted on similar coloured background paper, the heart seems to pop and mounted this on black really seems to harmonise the whole creation.

I've used some vintage style grosgrain ribbon to finish the card off and a cute little sentiment.

Why not pop over to http://drunkenstampers.wordpress.com/ to join the fun.
