Wedding anniversary card with an RAF themed brief.

Hi all,
This weeks card is based on a brief I was given by a friend. She required a 30th wedding anniversary card for her mum and dad. However, as they met through the RAF, she wanted the red , white and blue symbol to be featured on the card. Difficult is not the word, trying to make a card representing 30 years of marriage (pearl) and combine a very bright symbol.
But this is the result.

Using the RAF symbol printed on velum as the main image and covering a large aperture has worked well on this 8x8 card. I wanted to keep the embellishments simple, so as not to detract from the RAF theme, which my friend felt was fundamental to her parents. By adding only a white bow with a pearl dazzler to simple wording, the card was suitably adorned, without overshadowing the main image.

One thing I have learnt from this is to step out of my comfort zone for colour usage. I generally stick to muted colours and this was a real challenge to incorporate not only bright colours , but also having them in a set format.
I'm glad to say my friend loved it!!!!

Baby girl die cut card

Taking my liking for vintage as inspiration and mixing it with a modern image, I've created a cute little baby girl card. I've used various die's to achieve the vintage feel, as does the colour papers I've used.

Because the backing paper on the mat and layer is patterned, I've left the image as an outline as I felt it would make the card too fussy. Using the same pink ink as the image, I've accentuated the embossing from the die by inking through it and blending the edges.

To balance the corner die, in the opposite corner I have made a flower from 4 cuts of the sames die, consertinaed them together and finished it off with a Dazzler in the centre.

Jemima Puddle Duck 6x6 card

Been a while since I've had time to do any crafting, the joys of working full time and being a mum. Don't get me wrong, love being a mum, just could do without the work!!!
Oh well, I need to fund my crafty habit somehow!

Well this is my latest card, just a cutesy little birthday card.
I've always loved Beatrix Potter's stories and getting the opportunity to craft with her beautiful artwork is just a privilege.

Jemima Puddle Duck in monochrome card with accents
For this card, I've taken the main image and printed it in black and white, but to add interest I've picked out the features which are synonymous to Jemima, printed them out in colour and overlayed them on the original image

To complete the card, I've added a sentiment and some quilled flowers in complimenting colours and finished them off with some gems.

6x6 Kraft card base from my crafty stash.
Hunkydory pale green card for matting and layering.
