Graphic 45 By the Sea door hanger

Just doing a quick blog this morning, made this door hanger and I wanted to share last nights work.
I love trying to do other things than just cards and when I browsed through the paper pads from Graphic 45, my mind started filling up with ideas.

Using various elements of the paper pad and embellishment kit, I've given it dimension by layering up the seashells. Each one is individually cut out and glued on with 3D glue gel to enhance the effect even more. The lighthouse image is another element from the paper pad and the wooden frame if from Docrafts Sandero collection. I finished it off with a few buttons, a couple of die cuts and some beautiful lace ribbon.
I really do think that this is going to be one of my keep items!

Inidgoblu purple canvas

Phew, this has taken quite some time to finish, but now I have I'm really pleased with it. The stamps were free with a crafting magazine and as soon as I saw them I just knew I needed to get my Melt Pot out the box and use it for the first time. I used beeswax to seal everything on the canvas and although I'm sure I'll get better with practise, I was surprised how difficult the beeswax was to work with. But I did and here it is.

I was also quite surprised to find just how hard it is to get a good stamped image on stretched canvas!

Ingredients:
Indigoblu stamps - Free from Simply Cards and Papercraft
A5 Canvass & 2" square canvas
Paint to coat canvas - Docrafts Artiste Latte & Blackberry
Purple twine - Docrafts
Black inkpad - Ranger Archival
Flower die & stamp - Spellbinders & Creative Expressions
Beeswax - Cosmic Shimmer

Sassy Batgirl

Wow, this weeks card has been a challenge. I had a real mojo issue trying to work out what to do with my image. We had images from Sassy Studios this time and they are amazing images too. I got Batgirl to play with and I really did struggle to work out how to colour her up, as she is predominantly black and then combine her onto a card. I manged it in the end though and am really quite pleased. To try and differentiate between the black areas, I have used glossy accents to give the effect of slinky PVC!

I thought the sentiment from Indigoblu really suited the fantasist aspect of the card and with the twine, it kind of reminded me of another cartoon heroine; catwoman. Of course that could be just my imagination, but I like it anyway.

Delicious little picture for Through the Purple Haze Challenge #39

Ahhhhh, I could get used to this. I am now off work for a week and planning a wonderfully crafty week! First job......write blog, second job.......finish G45ing Stamps Away shelf (blog to follow at some point), third job.....craft shopping on Wednesday with mum, whoop whoop!
This week for Through the Purple Haze, we have two wonderful sponsors, Delicious Doodles and Aurora Wings. Both sponsors have some absolutely gorgeous image and very different to the type of thing I usually colour and the theme this week is also a bit of challenge for me, it's sketch week and I always struggle with this, my horoscopes say I'm not a conformist so that's must explain why I find sketch week hard!

On the plus side though, the image did seem to lend itself to being coloured with Spectrum Noir pencils and as I haven't had much chance to play with them yet, I thought I'd take the opportunity.

And here's the sketch and sponsor links.

If you fancy having a play, why not join us, you could win some fab digistamps too.

Ingredients:
Image - Delicious Doodles
C5 Card blank
Backing Paper - Craftwork cards Country Garden 6x6 paper pad

Mod Podge - Matt
Tag & Button - Graphic 45 Embellishments 'Botanical Tea'
Butterfly - Docrafts Santoro wood embellishment covered with Paper Graphic 45 Botanical Tea
